Holding true to these values has been key to the firm’s success.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a fiduciary, and what does that mean for me as a client?

Yes, Lindenwold Advisors is a fiduciary. This means we are legally and ethically obligated to always act in your best interest, ensuring that our advice and recommendations are tailored to your financial needs and goals.

Adhering to this fiduciary standard avoids potential conflicts of interest. We maintain guidance that is unbiased, thoroughly researched, and focused on helping you achieve your financial goals.

What are your qualifications and experience in financial planning and investment management?

Our investment team boasts a collective experience of more than 100 years in managing wealth and navigating complex financial markets. This deep well of practical knowledge spans many market cycles, economic conditions, and global events, providing us with invaluable insights that inform our investment strategies and decision-making processes.

How are you compensated for your services?

We charge a percentage professional fee based on the value of the assets we manage for you. This structure aligns our interests with yours, as our compensation is directly tied to the growth of your portfolio.

Do you get any other fees or commissions?

No. Unlike stockbrokers or many mutual fund or insurance-based financial planners, we do NOT earn any fees or commissions on activity in client accounts. Our only financial incentive is to assist our clients in growing and preserving their assets.

What is your investment philosophy and approach to portfolio management?

Lindenwold Advisors will apply disciplined investment processes that over full market cycles seek to deliver above market returns, below market risk, and productive risk budgeting. The firm has built its work around a keen understanding that investment success does not come from the elimination of risk, but rather “spending” an appropriate risk budget to sub-asset classes in a productive fashion in an effort to maximize expected returns per risk.

How often will we communicate and review my financial plan and investments?

We typically recommend holding periodic in-person or virtual meetings as you prefer and as needed. We also provide custom quarterly performance reports, strategy updates, and timely market comments that are essential to keep you informed.

What is your client base like, and do you have a minimum investment requirement?

Our current clientele is comprised of a diverse range of investors, including high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, and institutional entities. To maintain our commitment to personalized, high-touch service, we typically work with clients who have investable assets of $1 million or more. However, we understand that each investor's situation is unique. The full benefit of our work is more easily achieved when we manage the majority of each clients’ assets.

How do you measure and report investment performance?

We measure and report investment performance through comprehensive quarterly reports that detail your portfolio returns compared against relevant benchmarks. We include a breakdown of asset allocation to give you insight into how your portfolio is structured across different investment categories.

Accompanying these reports is our market commentary, which offers valuable context for the past quarter's performance. This narrative analyzes key market events and economic indicators, explaining how they impacted various asset classes and your portfolio, and includes a forward-looking market outlook.

Do you work with other professionals (e.g., tax advisors, and estate planners) to provide comprehensive financial advice?

We frequently coordinate our activities with our clients’ tax advisors and estate planning attorneys. Our clients often find our deep experience to be helpful in understanding and implementing complex documents and strategies.

What does it mean to claim compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®), and what are the benefits?

The Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) are voluntary, ethical standards for calculating and presenting investment performance based on the principles of fair representation and full disclosure.Investment performance is a fundamental part of all investing, and it is relevant to every investment and to every investor. It is important for the evaluation of progress against objectives, the selection of managers, and the calculation of incentives.
